Rollin Stanley, Director of Planning and Urban Design for St. Louis, is leaving after six years on the job. More at
MayorSlay.com and at
Urban St. Louis. Apparently, Rollin is headed to a planning job in suburban Montgomery County, Maryland. Somehow, he kept the rumor mills quiet before breaking this news; there was no chatter preceding this announcement.
Is this (talent leaving St Louis) surprsing? This has been going on for decades...
ReplyDeleteDon't forget that (this talent came coming to St. Louis) stayed far longer than is the norm in his business. That's something new.
ReplyDeleteWith all the success in St, Louis during his tenure, he can probably write his own ticket now.
ReplyDelete^ Not yet, though this is a great promotion.
ReplyDeleteIf Rollin can negotiate the new political minefields posed by a determinedly auto-centric constiuency in a very wealthy suburb twice the population and several times the size of St. Louis; and successfully manage the personnel and personalities in a department much larger than his St. Louis team, THEN he can write his ticket.
My bet is on Rollin.
PE
you bet wrong.
