Roofers re-roofed a stately brick two-flat at 4452 Manchester. The two-and-one-half story building remains boarded up, but the future looks better for it.
Meanwhile, the two-story storefront building at 4437 Manchester is sporting a "Vote NO on the CID" sign. The "CID" in question is a Community Improvement District being pushed by the bars, Bellon Wrecking and other businesses along and around Manchester to raise funds for, uh, various purposes. I'm not entirely certain what they will do that isn't already supposed to be done by city agencies (police, sidewalk repairs), but their thinking seems to be that a CID will speed up redevelopment on Manchester. The redevelopment, however, is speedy nonetheless and prices continue to rise beyond the means of many of the neighborhood's longtime homeowners.

Seen today
A lone green flier in support of Willie Marshall's campaign for Mayor blew against the locked revolving door to the currently-vacant first-floor space, once home to Grand National Bank, at the Continental Life Building in Midtown.
