Snow City

The Merchandise Mart, Isaac Taylor's 1888 Romanesque masterpiece at 1000 Washington, looked very stately in last week's snow. Then again, what in St. Louis did not look good in the snow?

i love isaac taylor's buildings. the merchandise mart is particularly powerful in its form and construction.

nice picture of it in the snow. its pretty hard for me to get motivated to take shots like this, so cold, wet, etc. a good excuse is that i don't want the camera to get wet . . . right.

What didn't look good? Oh I don't know.... maybe that big f*cking hole in the ground where the Century once stood! Sorry, had to vent...
