Granite Counter Tops, Stainless Steel Appliances, Friendly Spirits...
"Historical Home - HAUNTED" is the title of a CraigsList ad for a charming 160-year-old brick home in Alton. In cause the haunting would turn a prospective buyer away, the ad offers consolation: "House has at least 2 friendly spirits and their pet rarely seen or heard." Perhaps the ghosts are only seen and heard in the advertisement itself. Or perhaps the house is indeed haunted along with scores of other historic buildings in Alton. The price seems low enough to court that risk and, after all, these are "friendly" spirits.
