I loved that building. So monumental. At times, it almost seemed it would take flight. I can scarcely imagine the north side without her looming, sometimes brooding presence. She will be missed.

Can we expect a home depot, schnucks, or possibly, dare I say, Wal-Mart?

Oooo oooo, and hopefully a Sam's Club? Yeah! [/sarcasm]

Um, I believe the proposal for a Home Depot fell through. Not sure what's being considered at this point.

Schnucks is already too close by, with the relatively new City Plaza store on Natural Bridge and the brand new Buzz Westfall Plaza store in Jennings.

I really hope it doesn't become a Wal-Mart though.

This has been a tough site for a very long time. Yeah, the building was cool, but the whole complex was so contaminated I don't think it could have been saved (have to dig out all that dirt to pass DNR standards).
